Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said at a press conference in Miami that the Eagle FC promotion should be considered global, not just Russian.
“I don’t want people to think that this is a Russian promotion. This is a global promotion. The headquarters will be here in Miami,” Nurmagomedov said.
The first Eagle FC tournament in Russia took place last December. In 2022, the promotion will start in the USA – the debut tournament will take place on January 28 in Miami. It will be led by the fight of heavyweights – Russian Sergey Kharitonov and Surinamese Tyrone Spong.
On December 13, at a press conference in Moscow, Nurmagomedov announced that the promotion would be divided into two offices – Russian (head – Shamil Zavurov) and American (head – Rizvan Magomedov).
