If Kai Kara-France is needed to slot into a flyweight title fight on short notice, he would welcome that opportunity.
Kara_France won an unexpected victory over Askar Askarov, who was previously unbeaten. The unanimous decision took place on Saturday at the UFC Columbus main card. Askarov’s “Don’t Blink” used his athleticism to overcome a challenging puzzle.
In many other situations, the No. 9 ranked flyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings would be getting ready for a title fight. However, with a fourth meeting between champion Devieson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno being targeted for the summer, Kara-France understands getting a championship fight on a full camp will have to wait. Kara-France will always be available if anything happens to either challenger or champion during the build up to the fight.
” I’m sure that I can lose weight every day,” Kara France told backstage reporters. After the camps, I have changed. I’ve worked hard on keeping my weight down, and just being a true professional of this sport. It’s more than what you do in the gym. I am happy with where my career is at.
” I’m at a wonderful place. [Saturday was] is my birthday. I celebrated my 29, birthday. It was the greatest win in my career. I am going to celebrate with my team and can’t wait for my family .”
to come home.
Kara-France also discussed his victory over Askarov, how he feels Moreno beat Figueiredo in the UFC 270, trilogy, who he thinks will win next fight and updated travel restrictions that make life easier. You can see the entire video by clicking the link above.
