Justin Gaethje: “I will beat Oliveira and Tsarukyan and fight Makhachev”.

Despite the fact that the fight between Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan has been given official challenger status, UFC lightweight No. 2 Justin Gaethje, who will fight Max Holloway for the BMF title on the same day, is confident that he can beat his division colleagues in the title race to become Islam Makhachev’s next opponent.

“When the Oliveira and Tsarukyan fight was announced, I was sure I was going to get the fight with Makhachev because there was no one else to fight him,” the American said in an interview with Kevin Aiola. “He wrote that he wanted to fight me, but I don’t know what happened. I guess he got injured, something like that, and won’t be back until June-July.”

“I was under the impression that the previous fight with Dustin Porier was no less a contender fight than the Tsarukian and Oliveira fight. Now that we’re all fighting in the same card, everyone has a chance – me, Max, Tsarukian and Oliveira – and I’m going to beat them all”

As a reminder, the Gaethje-Holloway and Oliveira-Tsarukyan bouts will be part of the UFC 300 anniversary event, which takes place April 13 in Las Vegas.
