Justin Gaethje harassed for trip to Chechnya

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, who recently visited Chechnya with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo, denies that he came to the republic at the personal invitation of Ramzan Kadyrov.

The American had to make excuses after he was publicly complained about by the founder of the popular sports blog Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, who accused his compatriot of supporting the head of the Russian region.

“This is an outright lie and slander,” Gaethje wrote on the social network. “I never met him, so go *****”

According to the American, he arrived in the Chechen Republic for his birthday, and visited the military training ground out of love for weapons.

“Show me at least one photo or video of the guy you’re talking about. Yes, I was there. Are you saying all Russians are like that? I was a guest at a children’s birthday party. And yes, I also like to shoot guns.”

“They are trying to poison me by making false statements – it’s just ridiculous”

Earlier, Ramzan Kadyrov commented on the arrival of former UFC champions in the republic and their visit to the Russian University of Special Forces, jokingly suggesting that eminent fighters serve Russia.
