Junior Dos Santos defeated Fabricio Werdum again

Nearly fifteen years after his UFC debut bout in which Junior Dos Santos sensationally knocked out Fabricio Werdum, the Brazilian once again defeated his compatriot by split decision in a bare-knuckle MMA rules fight under the Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA banner.

Over the course of three rounds, “Romano” dominated his opponent in the standup, including through a sharp jab, and also successfully avoided tekdowns, winning the fight on the scorecards of two judges by a score of 30-27, however, the third judge somehow decided that Werdum had possession of the two-round advantage, posting a score of 29-28 in his favor.

At the end of the first round, Dos Santos gave his opponent a dissection over his right eye and sent him to a knockdown, and in the third round, blood began to pour over Werdum’s left eye as well.

Recall that the first fight of the Brazilian took place in October 2008 and ended with the victory of “Romano” by technical knockout at the 1:21 mark of the first round. After that, both heavyweights managed to try on the UFC championship belt, and performed in the organization until 2020, when they were released from the current contracts with the strongest league in the world.
