Interim WBO heavyweight champion Briton Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) shared his expectations from the first title defense, in which his opponent on April 15 in London (England) will be the representative of China Zhang Zhilei (24-1-1, 19 KO).

In particular, Joe plans to test his chin for strength, and has no doubt that everything will be spectacular and will end before the final gong.

“You can expect a lot of big hits from Zhang and me,” predicts Joyce. “Oh, it will be a wonderful, wonderful duel. You haven’t seen me yet against a tall southpaw and someone who can actually hit and test my chin. You will also see if I can knock him out and how our styles fit together. There’s an explosive battle coming up, and I don’t think it will go all the way. I know what to do with lefties, so it should work out well.”

Recall, Joyce won his semi-title in September last year, stopping the end of the fight of former world champion Joseph Parker.

Zhilei will enter the ring for the first time since his controversial points loss to Filip Hrgovic in August.

By the way, Zhang is also looking forward to an “explosive and epic” fight with Joyce.
