Joshua offered two top picks to replace Fury


The head of Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren, suggests that his colleague from Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, instead of a profuse mega fight against WBC champion Tyson Fury, take his heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) to other top British guys – Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) or Daniel Dubois (18-1, 17 KOs).

“That’s it, it’s off the table,” Warren said in an interview.

Now Fury, according to the promoter, is hoping for a fight against WBA/IBF/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in February. And Joshua…

“If Joshua wants to fight soon too, there are two great fights with Joyce and DuBois,” Frank suggested. “Both top positions in their organizations, both mandatory, with Joe being the WBO ‘interim’ champion and Dan being the ‘regular’ WBC champion.”

So, Warren summed up, for Anthony “there’s a way back to the top if he wants to talk about it.”

In early October, Joyce volunteered to come on as a substitute on December 17, not with Fury, but with Joshua. And Dubois has already found a new opponent – this is the ex-world champion.
