Promoter Eddie Hearn recorded an excellent video interview with Father Barry Hearn, with the padre asking him questions from LADbible TV podcast viewers and the son responding, usually with a touch of British humour.

But about some things, the head of Matchroom Boxing was quite serious.

When asked who would be the next undisputed heavyweight champion, Hearn Jr. answered without a shadow of hesitation that his client Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs). The latter has a re-fight scheduled for July 23 against the holder of the IBF/WBO/WBA belts Oleksandr Usyk.

“Obviously Tyson Fury will fight Dillian Whyte (interview recorded before the fight – ed.), and AJ will come out again against Usyk, and the winners will fight each other,” he told LADbible TV. – I’m betting on Joshua, ironically. I believe that he will beat Usyk in a rematch, and then, on a wave of success, the winner of the fight between Fury and Whyte.

Eddie also expressed regret that Joshua didn’t fight Deontay Wilder.

Hearn on Fury’s present and future: Says, “The world’s best heavyweight.” And the legendary heavyweight believes that “Americans have become small.”
