The rematch of the former absolute champion of the first welterweight division (up to 63.5 kg) Scot Josh Taylor (19-0, 13 KOs) against Englishman Jack Catterall (25-1, 13 KOs) received a new expected date.

According to information that has become available to columnist Mike Coppinger, the parties have agreed to fight on February 4 next year in the UK.

Prior to this, it was planned that the meeting would take place on November 26.

Recall that at the end of February of this year, Taylor, at that time the owner of all four prestigious division titles, entered the ring against the WBO mandatory challenger Catterall and with great difficulty won a controversial victory on points by a split decision of the judges. That fight took place on Josh’s territory in Glasgow.

The Scot has since lost his WBA, WBC and IBF titles, which required him to fight their mandatory challengers.

At the same time, at first, Taylor was generally inclined to move to the welterweight category (up to 66.7 kg), but subsequently decided to remain at his current weight for the time being.
