The man arrested by Miami police for shooting at Jorge Masvidal’s home was the 67-year-old father of the American fighter, Jorge Fernandez Masvidal.
The man is charged with attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, according to a police report. The name of the victim, at whom Masvidal Sr. shot during the quarrel, was not disclosed, but it is reported that the victim and the accused knew each other.
Last Thursday at 15:00 local time, a police squad arrived on a call and found representatives of the fire and rescue service at the scene providing first aid to an injured man who was wounded in the arm. The suspect was also at the scene of the incident and was detained by the authorities without putting up any resistance.
Jorge Masvidal, who is hosting a fight event under the Gamebred Bareknuckle banner this weekend with Roy Nelson as the headliner, has yet to comment on the situation.
