Former UFC welterweight title challenger Jorge Masvidal isn’t entirely happy that the BMF title he won in a fight against Nate Diaz ended up going to Justin Gaethje.
“When I won the belt, Dana said it was a one-off and it wouldn’t need to be defended,” Lowkick MMA quoted the former street fighter as saying. “There was no more talk about it, but then they decided to replay the whole thing.”
“Justin is good, there’s nothing I can say. To get that belt he beat the real killer, Dustin Porier, but if you put one BMF against another, me against Justin, I’ll break his damn orbital bone and chop him to pieces. Hopefully one day that will happen.”
Last April, Jorge Masvidal suffered his fourth straight defeat, losing by unanimous decision to Gilbert Burns before announcing the end of his professional career, and Justin Gaethje will make his BMF title defense against Max Holloway on April 13 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas.
