Jon Jones reacted violently to the defeat of Colby Covington

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones didn’t ignore the successful performance of Leon Edwards, who defended his UFC welterweight title this past weekend with a win over Colby Covington.

Jones, who shared a college room with Covington as a student, congratulated the Brit on his victory, promising to give him a treasured Christmas present.

“Leon Edwards, I’m very happy for you,” the American wrote on social media, addressing the Brit. “As America’s champion in this game, I congratulate you – that was a really good job. Let me know if I can get you a motorcycle or something else for Christmas. I feel like I owe you one.”

One fan suggested Edwards would want one of the more expensive Harley-Davidson models.

“Whatever he wants – I’ll do it gladly,” Jones replied.

Recall that the welterweight title fight that headlined the UFC 296 event in Las Vegas went the full distance and ended with the British fighter winning by unanimous 49-46 three-round unanimous decision.
