Jon Jones predicts Stipe Miocic fight

New UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who took down Cyril Gan in two minutes at UFC 285 in Las Vegas, is confident that his next opponent, Stipe Miocic, will not last more than three rounds against him.

“I have faith in my next fight and will approach it with even higher levels of confidence,” Jones said in a post-tournament press conference. “I believe that I will look incredible and that the next fight will be amazing”

“I address Stipa with all due respect: if I were you, I would take a long vacation right now and get distracted from the work of a firefighter. Now my whole world will be focused only on him, this is the greatest opportunity in my life, to become the greatest heavyweight of all time, and I will give everything for this. Stipe says that he is heavier than me, but he is already thinking about something else, because he needs to beat me not in weightlifting competitions. He won’t get any younger, and he won’t get any faster. I won’t just beat Stipe Miocic, I’ll finish him off before the championship rounds.”

The fight for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship between Jon Jones and Cyril Gun, who led the number event, ended at 2:04 of the first round with a victory for the American by guillotine choke.

At the post-tournament press conference, UFC president Dana White confirmed Stipe Miocic’s candidacy to challenge Jones this summer.
