Jon Jones may retire after fight with Stipe Miocic

The fight with Stipe Miocic could be the last in the professional career of current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

This was announced in an interview with TMZ Sports by UFC President Dana White.

“That’s what makes this fight so amazing – this is the confrontation between the best fighter of all time and the best heavyweight of all time,” said the head of the organization. “It’s hard to come up with something better than this. These are fights you can only dream of.”

“I won’t be shocked if he fights Stipe, retires and never fights again”

On March 4 at UFC 285 in Las Vegas, the former UFC light heavyweight champion successfully resumed his career after a three-year hiatus, finishing in two minutes with a Cyril Gan guillotine choke to win the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt vacated by Francis Ngannou.

The triumphant return to the octagon returned the 35-year-old American fighter to the first line of the ranking of the best fighters of the organization, regardless of the weight category from which Khabib Nurmagomedov replaced him in October 2020.

A title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic could headline UFC 290 in Las Vegas on July 8, according to reports.
