Jon Jones has put Tom Aspinall in his place

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones prevented Tom Aspinall from repeating a stunt the Brit performed before his fight against Sergey Pavlovic for the interim title.

When meeting the American in person, the UFC interim champion attempted to put his hand on Jones’ shoulder, but the latter immediately removed it, putting his potential opponent on the spot.

Video of the incident has been posted on social media.

Also Jon Jones answered Tom Aspinall’s question about when their bout will take place.

“Maybe one day,” the current UFC titleholder said with a smile.

Jon Jones was scheduled to go out for his title defense against Stipe Miocic last November, but tore a pectoral muscle and pulled out of the fight, while Tom Aspinall won the interim championship belt at UFC 295 with a first-round knockout of Sergey Pavlovic.

The head of the UFC, Dana White, revealed in a recent interview that the Jones and Miocic fight will take place this summer. As for Aspinall, he has expressed his willingness to defend the interim title against Curtis Blades, to whom he lost two years ago due to a knee injury.
