Reigning UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, commented on the statement of current UFC light heavyweight titleholder, Alex Pereira, who indicated a desire to train with the American.
“I would like to train with Jon Jones,” the Brazilian stated in a recent interview.
“I would be honored,” Jones responded on social media.
Last March, Jon Jones resumed his career after a three-year hiatus, finishing Cyril Gagne with a guillotine choke in the first round to win the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt. The American was scheduled to make a title defense against his compatriot Stipe Miocic in November, but tore a pectoral muscle and dropped out of the UFC 295 event.
Alex Pereira won the vacant UFC bantamweight championship belt at UFC 295, finishing former division champion Jiri Prohazka by technical knockout in the second round. The Brazilian is rumored to be eligible to make his first title defense on April 13 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas.
