Jon Jones answered the challenge of Khamzat Chimaev

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has responded to Hamzat Chimaev, who revealed in a recent interview that he would like to share the octagon with him.

The American made it clear that he doesn’t take such challenges seriously, and doesn’t want to waste his time on them.

“Khamzat Chimaev, stop this – don’t let people ask you these questions,” Jones wrote on social media, addressing the Chechen fighter. “No time for this nonsense. I’m minding my own business.”

Last March, Jon Jones resumed his career after a three-year hiatus, finishing Cyril Gagne with a first-round guillotine choke and winning the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt. The American fighter was scheduled to make a title defense against his compatriot Stipe Miocic in November, but tore a pectoral muscle and pulled out of the bout, which the world’s strongest league plans to make as soon as Jones recovers from two surgeries.

According to Hamzat Chimaev, who is ranked ninth in the UFC’s middleweight rankings, his next opponent will be the winner of the title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis, who will headline UFC 297 in Toronto as early as this weekend. “Borz” claims he was guaranteed a title shot by the organization’s management.
