Johnnie Walker made a statement after his loss to Magomed Ankalaev

No. 7 ranked UFC welterweight prospect Johnnie Walker, who suffered an early loss to Magomed Ankalaev last weekend in a potential challenger matchup, summarized the results of the fight and shared his future plans.

“Fighting the best in the world is an amazing experience,” the Brazilian wrote on social media. “Being one of the best in the world is also nice, but the slightest mistake is followed by severe consequences. Let’s draw conclusions from this lesson and go back to the drawing board. I still belong in the tops! Johnny will be back!”

Walker also made it clear that he would like to compete in the organization’s debut tournament in Saudi Arabia, which has been moved from March to June.

“I want to fight there,” the fighter commented on the news.

Recall that the fight between Ankalaev and Walker, which headlined UFC Fight Night 234 in Las Vegas, ended in the middle of the second round with a knockout victory for the Russian.
