Johnnie Walker gave a response to Magomed Ankalaev’s outburst

Top UFC welterweights Magomed Ankalaev and Johnnie Walker, who were unable to find a winner last weekend because their fight was ruled a no contest, continue to blame each other for the scandalous end to the fight.

“I was ready to fight a warrior, but he decided to be a clown,” the Russian wrote on social media.

It didn’t take long for the Brazilian to respond.

“Am I a clown? Or maybe you’re a cheater who likes to gain an advantage by playing dirty? You should have been disqualified! You realized you were losing an advantageous position and I was getting up, and you shit yourself by deciding to play dirty. You have two dozen professional fights and you still don’t know the rules?”, Walker wrote.

Already in the first round of the fight, which was the third major event of UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, Ankalaev misjudged his opponent’s position near the net and landed a banned knee strike, while Walker claimed to be ‘in the desert’ while being examined by a doctor and was pulled from the fight.

As soon as the referee gave the go-ahead to stop the fight, the Brazilian tried to pick a fight with the Russian, and in a post-fight interview Walker stated that he had a misunderstanding with the doctor because of the language barrier, and in fact he was ready to fight.

UFC President, Dana White, confirmed today that he will arrange for the welterweights to fight again, but denied that Ankalaev and Walker will meet on November 11 at UFC 295 in New York City.
