John McCarthy pointed out a rules violation by Israel Adesanya

If John McCarthy was handling the title fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland, he wouldn’t have allowed the Nigerian to step into the octagon as he showed up to fight the American.

According to the legendary referee, the UFC champion’s long legs didn’t meet the regulations and he would have made the fighter shorten them.

“Big” John said this while answering a relevant question from a subscriber on the social network.

“Not if I was servicing the fight,” McCarthy wrote. “They should have been shortened.”

Adesanya’s notorious manicure was one of the topics of trashtalk from Strickland, who said in a pre-match interview that he couldn’t be beaten by an anime fan with painted fingernails. The Nigerian responded by promising to knock out the challenger and demonstrate on camera the nails he would use to do it.

As we know, the American was right, who at UFC 293 in Sydney sensationally defeated the Nigerian fighter by unanimous decision and took the UFC middleweight championship belt away from him.
