UFC commentator and host of one of the most popular podcasts in the world, Joe Rogan, addressed the heavyweight unification bout between Oleksandr Usik and Tyson Fury, who last weekend claimed the Ultimate Fighting Championship crown.
“What a fight! Congratulations to Alexander Usik for winning the fight for the title of absolute world champion! And huge kudos to Tyson Fury for not only surviving the ninth round, but getting back in the fight. No one recovers from knockdowns like Fury. He truly has the heart of a champion. Looking forward to the rematch!”, – wrote the American on social network.
The heavyweight bout, which took place in the Saudi capital Riyadh, went the full distance and ended with the Ukrainian winning by split decision with scores of 115-112, 114-113 and 113-114, with the Briton seriously shaken in the ninth round and close to a knockout defeat.
“The Gypsy King” has already stated that he is going to exercise his right to an immediate rematch, which is tentatively scheduled for October this year.
