36-year-old top prospect of the heavyweight division from the UK, Olympic silver medalist 2016 Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) will enter the ring on July 2 in London (England) and will fight against 34-year-old native of Romania from Germany, Christian Hammer ( 27-9, 17 KOs).

Today, the corresponding announcement was made by the promoter of the upcoming show, Frank Warren.

It will be Joyce’s first performance since last July when he stopped Carlos Takam but suffered a fractured wrist in the process.

“The most important thing is for Joe to be active and confident again after the injury,” Warren said. “Christian Hammer is an experienced fighter who will be a good test and give him a good fight. But obviously we expect Joe to get the job done and then start preparing for the bigger event in the second half of the year.”

The functionary also noted that in September they were going to organize a fight between Joyce and ex-world champion Joseph Parker, but the latter decided to go the other way by signing an agreement with Ben Shalom’s promotional company Boxxer.

Unlike the Brit, Hammer has already boxed twice this year, losing on points to Frank Sanchez and destroying in a round
Drazana Janjanina.

Recently, Joyce spoke about the fight with Fury, he went into the comments – and away we go.
