UFC on ABC 1 tournament bout
Fight Island in Abu Dhabi (UAE) will host the first UFC event of 2021 this coming Saturday night. It will also be the promotion’s first tournament in collaboration with the American television network ABC, so the event will be called UFC on ABC 1. This show is also interesting in that the audience will finally be able to watch UFC fights live, about 2000 fans will be present at Etihad Arena” January 16th.
Rising middleweight fighter Buckley will be tested by Di Chirico in one of the main card fights.
Buckley made his UFC debut last August with a knockout loss to Kevin Holland. But in October, Buckley made headlines when he beat Impu Kasanganai with an incredible knockout roundhouse kick after an opponent blocked his other leg. And the following month, Joaquin knocked out, but with punches, Jordan Wright.
Di Chirico came to the UFC in 2016 as an undefeated fighter, but in his first five fights in the octagon, he suffered two defeats, and then the Italian lost three fights in a row. Di Chirico will enter the cage on the verge of being fired from the UFC after losing to Kevin Holland, Makhmud Muradov and Zach Cummings. True, none of this trinity managed to finish it.
Prediction for the fight
Buckley, despite the wrestling background, in the cage fully relies on his striking power, while not sparkling with technique. Di Chirico does not have any basic martial arts and can be classified as an all-around fighter, while it cannot be said that he is strong in any particular aspect of the fight.
The average Di Chirico looks like another victim of Buckley in the UFC. Alessio hasn’t lost by knockout yet, but Buckley can fix that. We expect that the American will impose an exchange on the opponent from the beginning of the fight and finish it before the break.
