Jiri Prochazka appealed to Jamal Hill and the UFC

Former UFC light heavyweight title holder Jiri Prochazka has commented on the news that the reigning division champion, Jamal Hill, who was scheduled to split the octagon with him next, suffered an Achilles tendon injury in a basketball game and vacated the belt.

“Jamal, I’m so sorry – I was really looking forward to our fight,” the Czech fighter wrote on the social network. “I appreciate that you vacated the title. This can only be appreciated by a person who himself has been in this situation. Who’s next, UFC? The winner of the battle Blachowicz – Pereira, or …? I am the Champion!

The American did not leave unanswered the words of a potential opponent.

“Thank you Champion! We will definitely dance again!” Hill wrote. “Everything has its time. Looking forward to seeing you opposite in the octagon.”

In November last year, Jiri Prochazka decided to vacate the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship after suffering a severe shoulder injury, after which the organization made an unsuccessful attempt to play for the vacant title in a duel between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz, who ended the fight in December with a draw.

A month later, Glover Teixeira and Jamal Hill received title shots, and the American became the new division champion, defeating the Brazilian in dominant style by unanimous decision.

Recall that the light heavyweight fight between Jan Blachowicz and Alex Pereira, which Prochaska mentioned, will take place on July 29 at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City.
