Jiri Prochaska: “I’m Not Sure Hill Deserved a Title Fight”

Jiri Prochaska:

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka, who vacated the championship belt due to injury, is not sure that the American Jamal Hill, who will compete with Glover Teixeira in the next fight, deserves the right to fight for the vacant title.

“I think it’s a good fight,” the Czech fighter told CBS. “I’m not sure if Hill deserved a title fight, but it’s great for Glover because he’ll be fighting in Rio, at home. I’m looking forward to this fight – I want to see them perform.”

Recall that the organization’s first attempt to play for the vacant championship belt ended unsuccessfully, as Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blachowicz ended the fight in a draw at UFC 282 in Las Vegas, and the duel of Glover Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz on January 21 will head the UFC 283 tournament in Rio de Janeiro.

Teixeira and Hill currently sit second and seventh in the UFC light heavyweight division, respectively.
