Jimmy Crute will return from a long layoff in Australia.
Officials from UFC revealed Monday that Crute would face Alonzo Meifield at UFC 284,, which will take place February. 12 in Perth, Western Australia. (Due to time differences, the pay per view card will be aired stateside on February. 11).
Crute will make his first public appearance after undergoing knee surgery in January 2021.. Crute has not been active since December. The 26-year-old will look to get back on track after suffering back-to-back stoppage losses to Anthony Smith and Jamahal Hill.
After stopping Askar Mozharov, Misha Cirkunov in his two 2022 appearances,
Menifield hopes to win three consecutive wins. In his 10th promotional appearance, the 35- year old won four out of five.
Also, UFC promotion revealed that Shannon Ross from Australia — who was stopped in August by Vinicius Salvador on Dana White’s Contender Series — would make his debut against Kleydson Rodriguez.
UFC 284 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between new champ Islam Makhachev and featherweight titleholder Alexander Volkanovski.
