Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade will replace her compatriot Taila Santos against Erin Blanchfield, who will headline UFC Fight Night 219 in Las Vegas on February 18.
The replacement was officially announced by representatives of the organization, who said that Santos had “personal problems.” At the same time, sources close to the situation report that the reason for the Brazilian’s refusal to fight was that her seconds could not get visas.
Erin Blanchfield, 23, who moved from Invicta FC to the UFC in 2020, has won four victories in the organization, finishing Molly McCann as a Kimura in the first round in the last fight.
After losing by TKO in a title fight against Valentina Shevchenko, 31-year-old Jessica Andrade scored three wins in a row, finishing Cynthia Calvillo and Amanda Lemos, as well as winning a unanimous decision against Lauren Murphy.
Currently, Jessica Andrade and Erin Blanchfield are ranked third and tenth in the UFC women’s flyweight division, respectively.
