Mandatory contenders in the junior middleweight (up to 69.9 kg), where the absolute champion is the American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs), must first find out among themselves who will have the honor to challenge him. This idea came from e-Charlo himself, who a few days ago defeated Brian Castagno in a rematch and collected all the titles.

Now, he said at a press conference, “We’re going to stick to the plan, work hard in practice, because we know we’ve got mandatory challengers, bro.”

“When you become this top, you have all these sanctioned applicants and everyone wants to get their chance first. Looks good. But I’m busy. They must fight each other. I’m busy,” Charlo said.

Jermell said that he felt he “really did something very, very important and made it to the Hall of Fame level.”

Mandatory contenders e-Charlo: Russian Bakhram Murtazaliev (20-0, 15 KOs) according to IBF, American Sebastian Fundora (19-0-1, 13 KOs) – WBC, and Australian Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) – WBO. Whoever wins the rematch between Israil Madrimov (8-0, 6 KOs) and Michel Soro (35-3-1, 24 KOs) will become mandatory for the WBA.

The same Fundora has already noticed Jermell’s weak point, and Tszyu says about Charlo: “There is hatred between us” and “an evil and ugly little man.”
