UFC 269 tournament bout
The fight will take place on December 12 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the T-Mobile Arena and will be one of the main ones at the UFC 269 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 06:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
On the main (paid) card of the event, two welterweight fighters from the top 15 rating will meet: No. 12 Jeff Neal (13-4) and No. 14 Santiago Ponzinibbio (28-4).
Neal hasn’t won in two years. In December 2019, he brought his record in the UFC to 6-0, knocking out Mike Perry in a minute and a half. Jeff made his next appearance in the cage only a year later, to lose without question in five rounds to Stephen Thompson. In May 2021, “Hands of Steel” Jeff lost a unanimous decision to Neil Magny.

Ponzinibbio has lost only one fight in the last six years. It happened in January of this year at the hands of Li Jingliang, who knocked him out in the first round. The defeat ended the Argentine’s 7-match winning streak. In June, Ponzinibbio returned to beat Miguel Baeza by unanimous decision.
Prediction for the fight
Neil and Ponzinibbio prefer to fight on the stand, Jeff is good at grappling, but on the ground he will surely lose to an opponent who has a black belt in BJJ.
Plus, Ponzinibbio is probably a tougher drummer. However, Neil has the tools with which he can win. He is a very technical kickboxer, if he does not allow himself to be transferred to the ground, then he has a good chance of winning by a referee’s decision. Although it cannot be ruled out that the fight could end in someone’s knockout.
