Jan Blachowicz on Teixeira’s defeat: “I shouldn’t have fought. That evening I would have lost to anyone “

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has broken down the reasons behind his loss to Glover Teicher at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.

“It all went wrong,” Blachowicz said on The MMA Hour. – I shouldn’t have fought tonight. It wasn’t my day. I would have lost to anyone at that moment. I don’t want to explain anything, but it just wasn’t my day. I should have listened to myself, I had a bad feeling. Sometimes it comes to me, and if I don’t listen to it, something bad happens. Every time I thought about the camp for the fight, about the fight itself, I had a bad feeling. I drove him away from me, and it was a mistake.

This is one of the worst moments of my career. What frustrates me the most is that I didn’t try to survive, didn’t resist. I gave away the belt for free. It’s the worst that can be. Why did I knock quickly? Because I couldn’t breathe (laughs). If I could breathe, I wouldn’t knock.

For the next camp, we will make changes in the preparation. Next week we will have a meeting with the owners of the hall, with the coaches, the best fighters will gather. We will discuss what to do next, what to change. But something needs to be changed, because something that we have been doing for the last three years no longer works. We must change, or our hall will no longer be considered the best in Poland. After all, I wasn’t the only one with problems. [в бою с Гловером], other fighters of the hall had problems at the same time. The same. We need to change the way we train. Our body is used to the work that has been in recent years, the muscles are used to it. We have stopped developing. Gotta change».

On October 30, Blachowicz lost to Teixeira via rear naked choke in the 2nd round of the main event of the evening at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.
