Jamal Hill’s team issued a statement about the former UFC champion’s arrest

The management of former UFC bantamweight champion, Jamal Hill, has commented on the information that their charge was arrested earlier this week for assaulting and injuring his brother.

According to a statement released, the American does not plead guilty and is ready to prove it in court.

“Recent clickbait headlines are based on information about an alleged conflict between Jamal Hill and his older brother,” the statement reads. “Jamal categorically denies all false allegations. We will make no further comment until the truth comes out in court.”

The day before, news broke that Jamal Hill was arrested by Michigan police on Monday and released the same day after prosecutors formally charged him with aggravated domestic violence. According to the police report, the victim is James Anthony Hill Jr. who suffered “serious injuries” during the incident.

The first hearing in the case will take place next January.

In January this year, Jamal Hill won the vacant UFC flyweight championship belt by defeating Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision, but in July, the 32-year-old American was forced to vacate the title after tearing his Achilles tendon while playing basketball.

The UFC’s plan is for Hill to challenge the division’s new champion, Alex Pereira, who won the vacant belt in November by finishing Jiri Prohazka by second-round TKO.
