Former UFC bantamweight champion Jamal Hill, who is recovering from an Achilles injury, plans to not only reclaim his championship belt, but also move up to heavyweight to put his skills to the test against Britain’s Tom Aspinall.
“I think Tom is a tough guy,” the American told TNT Sports. “He’s the prototype for the new heavyweight. I definitely want to do my thing at flyweight and move up by eventually meeting him. So Tom, get ready to meet me, baby! Someday…”
Jamal Hill’s next opponent should be Brazilian Alex Pereira, who finished Czech Jiri Prochazka by second-round technical knockout last weekend at UFC 295 in New York City and won the vacant UFC bantamweight championship belt vacated by the American.
In the number two main event of the numbered event, Tom Aspinall knocked out Russian Sergey Pavlovich as early as 69 seconds into the fight, becoming the holder of the interim UFC heavyweight title.
