Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Jamal Hill, who won the vacant belt against Glover Teixeira, is looking to see compatriot Brazilian Alex Pereira, who holds the UFC middleweight title, as his next opponent.
“I was told that Pereira could move up to light heavyweight,” the American said in an interview with Middle Easy. “Come on boy, make up your mind and we will do it! Or I can go down to him and post to him there. I was in New York for UFC 281 and watched his fight with Adesanya live. With all due respect to Izzy, I’m going to knock Pereira out.”
Last weekend at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Alex Pereira seconded Glover Teixeira, who lost a 50-44 unanimous decision to Jamal Hill three times in five rounds.
Last November, the Brazilian took the UFC middleweight title from Israel Adesanya, finishing the Nigerian by TKO in the fifth round.
