Paul vs. Fury took place Feb. 26 at the Diriyah Arena in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia. Jake Paul (6-1) and Tommy Fury (9-0) both brought undefeated records to the main event clash. ESPN+ aired the fight live.

Tommy Fury is the first one to enter. He’s out to a custom intro featuring Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son.

Jake Paul takes his time getting in. He’s getting ready and the cameras are already in his locker. Access stuff, folks. As soon as he enters, there are loud boos.

Paul’s entry begins with sound clips. He’s walking out with energy, certainly more than Fury had. Logan is also part of the team. His entrance music is Outlet by Desiigner.

Round 1: Fury with an aggressive start, but Paul is quick to wrap him up and he nearly lifts him over the top rope. It was strange. Paul was agitated and with much head movement. They’re now tied again. Fury with a jab. Another tie-up. Fury’s jab looking good. Loud “Tommy” chant. Lots of clinching from Paul. Overhand right for Paul, then back into the clinch. Paul advancing with his jab but not landing much. Paul jabs to Fury’s body, Fury responds with one on top. The round ends with a brief exchange.

Round 2: Paul shaking his arms loose. Fury makes jabs and circles. Fury is seen looking right at the body. Fury is in. Fury is a good jab. Paul whiffs on an overhand right. Paul tries to corner Fury, but he eats a counter punch. Paul with a left hook. Fury strikes another sharp punch. Fury clips Paul with a straight right. Paul stops a left hook. Paul misses with the right hook, but manages to land a jab. Paul now has a great jab. Both fighters fail with huge shots. Paul sneaks in a left hook.

Fury doubles up on a jab. Fury fights confidently while keeping his hands down. He’s scoring, but Paul gets his attention with a big punch. Fury wins an exchange of jabs. Fury catches Paul with a punch to the back of the head as the round comes to a close. Paul looks annoyed, but nothing comes of it.

Paul was penalized for holding Fury’s head. Paul makes Fury hurt by his left. Fury recovers quickly. Fury takes a right against an approaching Paul. There’s a 1-2 by Fury.

Round 6: Paul opens the round with a left hook. Fury is caught by Fury with a quick shot, as they clinch on the ropes. Fury lands an uppercut. Another uppercut by Fury. Fury’s solid jab. Fury opens up. Both fighters are asked by the referee about their clinching. Fury is now disqualified for excessive grappling. Fury takes a body shot.

Round 7: Fury with sharp counters on a charging Paul. Paul hits a jab, but it doesn’t work. This has been Paul’s story. Fury lands a left hook. Good jab by Paul and Fury circles off of the ropes. Fury rips the body. Paul keeps ducking into Fury’s left hand. Combination by Fury and Paul ties him up. This round saw a lot of volume from Fury. Fury catches Paul with a right hand. Fury scores with a jab.

Round 8: Paul just lunging in and looking for that right hand knockout. Fury wins with counters but Paul scores a hard left that leaves Fury on the canvas. This is a great win! Fury back at it quickly. Fury scores a lot of points. Paul just rushing in and Fury sends him back with a combination. Fury responds with heavy shots. Paul makes contact with the right. Another separation by the ref. Fury is unable to make a punch with his big right hand, so we will go to the bell again with all the fighters tied up.

Official decision: Tommy Fury def. Jake Paul via split decision (74-75, 76-73, 76-73)

After the reading of the decision, Fury and Paul were very respectful towards each other.

Fury discusses the difficulties of dealing with all the injuries he suffered trying to put this matchup together. Bambi is his prize.

“I had a vision I would win this fight and no one believed me.” Fury says. Fury says the “Diriyah Championship” belt that he holds over his shoulder was similar to fighting for a global title. Asked about Paul’s rematch clause, Fury says he’s open to it if that’s what Paul wants.
