The heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Zhailton Almeida will be the main event of UFC Fight Night on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
Representatives of the UFC officially announced the fight, which was previously reported by informed sources close to the situation. At the same time, the light heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker, announced as the main event of the event, becomes a three-round one and receives the status of the second most important event of the show.
35-year-old Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the previous fight returned his career to a successful track after two defeats in a row, knocking out Chris Dakas in the first minute. Prior to that, the Surinamese knockout lost a decision to Curtis Blades and lost by technical knockout to Alexander Volkov.
The 31-year-old representative of Brazil Zhailton Almeida won four early victories in the UFC, finishing in the last fight with a technical knockout in the second round of Shamil Abdurahimov.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Zhailton Almeida are currently ranked ninth and twelfth in the UFC heavyweight division, respectively.
