Yesterday in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) an open training session was held with the participation of the main characters of the Saturday evening of boxing – in the main event Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) will give revenge to Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs). They will fight for the WBA Super, IBF, WBO titles, which the boxer from Ukraine took away from his opponent in September in London (England).
The undercard will include the conqueror of two weight divisions, the Swedish veteran Badu Jack (26-3-3, 16 KOs) – in the cruiserweight limit he will fight with the unbeaten American bag fighter Richard Rivera (21-0, 16 KOs), known by the nickname “Sailor Popeye.”
Jack shared a video with subscribers. It turns out that Usyk turned to him with a question if he remembers their face-to-face confrontation in the amateur ring – in 2006 in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) at the European Championship, the Ukrainian defeated the Swede and for the first time took the medal of the continental forum (bronze).
It’s funny that both then competed in the middle weight limit (up to 75 kg). Usyk stopped one step before the final – he lost to the future champion Russian Matvey Korobov.
