Israel Adesanya reveals his biggest advantage in rematch with Alex Pereira

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who is set to face Alex Pereira in a two-week title rematch, sees a definite plus in the fact that he suffered an early defeat in his previous fight.

“What is the advantage in defeat? I have nothing to lose,” Middle Easy quoted the Nigerian as saying. “My main advantage is that I have nothing to lose. What else can he do to me? The worst has already happened, and I’ll tell you this – I know how to beat this guy. Deep down I know how to beat him, and he knows that I know how to beat him. That’s the problem. And I’m as motivated as possible to kick his ass this time.”

Last November, Israel Adesanya lost the UFC championship belt to Alex Pereira by TKO in the fifth round. Prior to that, the Nigerian lost twice to the Brazilian in kickboxing fights, including by deaf knockout.

Recall that the revenge of the principal rivals on April 8 will head the UFC 287 tournament in Miami.
