Israel Adesanya responded to potential rivals

Former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has responded to the division’s top fighters who, after his loss to Sean Strickland, expressed confidence that if they were the American, they would have defeated the Nigerian even more convincingly.

“Like I said, I’m only human,” Adesanya said in an interview posted on his Youtube channel. “I know what I have to do to become who I am again. What’s funny to me is how everyone immediately rasped out, going out of their way to show how happy they are with my defeat”

“They’re all saying, ‘If I were to face this version of Adesanya, I would do this and this… I would finish this version of Adesanya in two rounds.’ And it’s all because they know who I really am. They say that because they realize how real I am, and I find it funny.”

Earlier, Adesanya avoided answering a question about whether he would demand an immediate rematch with the new UFC champion, revealing that he will now fight just for fun.

Recall that the middleweight title fight, which headlined UFC 293 in Sydney on Sept. 9, went the full distance and ended with the American winning by unanimous 49-46 three-round decision.
