Israel Adesanya hints at a comeback by showing off current form

Rumors of a flyweight bout between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira have flared up with renewed vigor after the Nigerian showed fans his current fitness.

Fans were baffled not only by the impressive biceps, but also by a statement the former UFC champion left as a comment on a workout photo posted on social media.

“I lied,” Adesanya wrote, possibly referring to the lengthy career pause he planned to take after his loss to Sean Strickland.

According to rumors, a bantamweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya could be the main event of the UFC 300 anniversary event on April 13 in Las Vegas.

Alex Pereira took the UFC middleweight title from Israel Adesanya in November 2022, winning the fight by TKO in the fifth round, and last April, the Nigerian regained the championship belt by knocking out the Brazilian in the second round.

In September, Adesanya sensationally lost the title against Sean Strickland, while Pereira won a challenger fight against Jan Blachowicz as part of a welterweight title eliminator and then became the division’s new champion by finishing Jiri Prohazka by second-round technical knockout.
