Israel Adesanya has confirmed his participation in the UFC 300 tournament

Former UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has made it clear that he will take part in the UFC 300 anniversary tournament on April 13 in Las Vegas.

The Nigerian made the announcement on social media, posting a meaningful “300 Spartans” style poster.

“The gods must have gone mad,” Adesanya wrote in a comment.

The former UFC champion did not specify who he would fight or at what weight, but four options remain realistic at this point. Adesanya could complete a ground-and-pound trilogy with Alex Pereira at flyweight, try to regain the middleweight title against Dricus Du Plessis, rematch Sean Strickland, and share the octagon with Hamzat Chimaev.

Israel Adesanya, 34, last stepped into the octagon last September when he sensationally lost by unanimous decision to Sean Strickland and lost his UFC middleweight championship belt.
