Israel Adesanya gave a surprise prediction for his fight with Sean Strickland

Reigning UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has no plans to take his upcoming fight with Sean Strickland to a judges’ decision, and is looking to pick up his first career submission victory against the American.

“It’s definitely going to take someone’s breath away,” the Nigerian told TSN. “I really want to sabmish a couple people. I’m done with ‘Fight of the Night’ – that crap is not for me. I like cleanly executed wins. I’ve had some great performances – I’ve won spectacularly, I’ve lost spectacularly, I’ve come back fighting. I think now I’ve got to show my grappling, curl a couple limbs and take a little bit of a breather”

“Maybe I’ll do that in the fight against Strickland. I know he’ll fight. He’d be a fool if he didn’t. I know he’s trying to mislead me by repeating, ‘man dance…man dance…’ Actually he’s going to sniff his scrotum – that’s what he’s going to do.”

“He’s got smart coaches, and they’re going to make him do it. I know at first he’s been flinching away, like, ‘What, sniffing scrotum? I’m gonna box!” but eventually he’ll do what he’s told. Do you really think you can box with me? In the fight against Pereira, I warned him, advised him to focus on the work ahead so he wouldn’t get knocked out. And what did he do? He let himself get knocked out because he wasn’t focused on his work, he was thinking about the fight with me”

The middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland will be the main event of UFC 293, which takes place on September 9 in Sydney.
