Israel Adesanya failed to rise in the ranking of the best UFC fighters

After taking down Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in Miami, Israel Adesanya regained the UFC middleweight title and division lead, but failed to improve his position in the organization’s top fighters regardless of weight class.

According to the updated rating published on the official website of the world’s strongest league, the Nigerian remained on the fifth line of the UFC P4P list, while the Brazilian dropped three positions to ninth place. Pereira’s fall saw Charles Oliveira, Aljamain Sterling and Kamaru Usman move up, with the latter two together in sixth place.

In the list of the best fighters Israel Adesanya is still ahead of the reigning UFC champions Leon Edwards, Islam Makhachev, Alexander Volkanovski and Jon Jones, who retained their positions.

Recall that the title fight of the middleweights, who headlined another UFC numbered event last weekend, ended with Adesanya’s victory by knockout at around 4:21 of the second round.
