Islam Makhachev’s trainer, Javier Mendes, talked about what changes he expects to see in Charles Oliveira’s game in the upcoming title rematch.
“We expect fire from Oliveira,” the American specialist was quoted by BJPenn as saying. “He’s going to be more motivated than ever because he’s lacking a title shot, he’s lacking attention, and his fight with Dariusz showed that he’s very serious. He did something to Dariush that we weren’t expecting. He just completely destroyed him in every aspect. So this guy is more determined now than he’s ever been.”
“I’m not going to say that he underestimated Islam in the first fight, because he didn’t. But I think he was more cocky than he should have been, and he won’t be so cocky this time. He knows now that Islam is the most dangerous guy he’s ever fought.”
