The current UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, has responded to the allegations of his former rival Bobby Green, who in a recent interview said that the Russian has been taking steroids since childhood, and therefore has incredible strength.
“I’m not like Bobby Green – I don’t drink and I don’t do bad things,” Makhachev said, answering reporters’ questions. “I train hard – that’s why he felt my strength. All my opponents say, ‘I can defend against his fight’, but when the fight starts and I transfer them, they all feel my power. It’s not because I’m so good, but because I’ve been training all my life.”
Recall that already this weekend at UFC 284 in Perth, Islam Makhachev will defend his championship belt against Australian Alexander Volkanovski, who will put the title of the best fighter of the organization at stake, regardless of the weight category.
