Islam Makhachev gave advice to Michael Chandler

Reigning UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, doesn’t understand American Michael Chandler, who has been idle for nearly a year and a half while waiting for a fight with Conor McGregor.

“Chandler doesn’t look good because, how many years has he been waiting for this fight?” the Russian said. “Every day he goes to bed and dreams – I’m going to fight Conor McGregor. Man, you’re not young anymore – you have to fight someone, make money, and then you can fight Conor.”

“What could happen? You already lost your last fight. Lose again, earn it, and fight Conor. Maybe if you lose again, Conor will see this fight, and say, ‘I can beat this guy!'”

Michael Chandler last entered the octagon in November 2022, losing by rear-naked choke in the third round to Dustin Puryear, and Conor McGregor recently announced that his fight with the American will take place on June 29 at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, however, representatives of the organization have not yet confirmed this information, and the head of the UFC, Dana White, has made it clear that the return of the Irishman is in serious doubt.
