US manager Egis Klimasrepresenting the interests of the unified heavyweight champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), in
interview for the British media, he spoke about the scheduled date for a potential fight for the title of absolute world champion against the WBC title holder Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs).

Also in the conversation, Klimas commented on Usyk’s possible fights against ex-WBC champion from the United States Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) and “interim” WBO champion Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs), and spoke about the end of the Ukrainian career .

– We were told that we would see a fight for the absolute champion Usyk – Fury in late February – early March. Are you expecting the same?

– Right. Yes, that’s right. Not earlier than 18 February and not later than 4 March.

Aegis, Tyson calls Alexander a bloated middleweight, doesn’t give him credit for what he’s achieved. What do you think about Tyson’s decision not to give Usyk credit for what he has achieved in the sport?

Everything that comes out of Tyson Fury’s mouth doesn’t mean shit.

  • Klimas: “No wonder Usyk called Fury a wino”

What do you think of his fight against Chisora?

“I don’t think this will be a difficult fight for Tyson Fury. What time will it be, the third? There shouldn’t be any difference.

– Another name that is mentioned with Alexander is Joe Joyce. Was this fight ever close to being organized? In your opinion, will we see them in the same ring as professionals?

– I think this fight was even sanctioned by the WBO before we got the fight with Joshua. But they could not decide – if we got to the auction, what should be the section of the fee, who would get what percentage. And officially, it never came to an auction, because the story with Tyson Fury and Wilder started spinning again. And that’s why they couldn’t make the Tyson Fury fight with Joshua. Thank God, thank Tyson that this fight did not take place. But now we have a chance. Let’s hope that we are the ones who can organize this duel.

– Do you see how at a certain moment Alexander and Joe will share the ring?

“I believe that this fight will take place.

  • Fury – Usyk and Joshua’s plans – commented by Eddie Hearn

What can you say about Joe Joyce as a professional?

– He is a good fighter. A little slow, but given his size, he still has a lot of chances in the heavyweight division.

– Alexander talked about three more fights in his career: with Fury for the absolute champion, Wilder was mentioned and he joked about Canelo at catchweight. Egis, how many fights do you think Alexander has left in his career until he decides to leave the sport?

It’s entirely his decision. I can’t say anything about this. I think one morning he’ll wake up and say, “I don’t want to fight anymore. I’m leaving.”

– Fight with Wilder. Do you think Alexander will share the ring with him?

– Right now we are waiting for the organization of the duel with Tyson Fury. It depends on how everything else goes. We decide from fight to fight. We don’t decide 10 fights ahead.
