Ilon Musk is funding Gina Carano’s lawsuit against Disney Studios

The first female mixed martial arts superstar, Gina Carano, plans to return to her role in the Mandalorian series with the active participation of one of the richest men on the planet.

Gina Carano, 41, who was fired from the project three years ago for making political remarks, is suing Disney and Lucasfilm, and her lawsuit will be financed by Elon Musk.

The former challenger for the Strikeforce championship belt is reportedly accusing the media giants of discrimination and wrongful termination, and is seeking $75,000 in financial damages and a return to the show.

Gina Carano landed a role on The Mandalorean in 2019 and was one of the main stars of the project alongside Pedro Pascal until she was fired from the TV show in February 2021 due to a post on a social media network that Musk later became the owner of. At that time, Carano, known for her anti-government views, compared the actions of the US authorities under President Joe Biden to the holocaust perpetrated by Nazi Germany.

In the TV series Mandalorean, which is part of the Star Wars universe, Carano played the mercenary Karasynthia Dune for two seasons.

Gina Carano ended her professional MMA career in 2009, losing to Cris Cyborg by first-round technical knockout in a Strikeforce title fight.
