UFC featherweight title challenger, Ilia Topuria, has no doubts that he will score an uncontested and dominant victory over the division’s current champion, Alexander Volkanovski.
“I see that he’s ready, but I’m not sure he’s ready for what awaits him tomorrow,” Topuria told ESPN after the showcase weigh-in ceremony. “He won’t even be able to touch me, I guarantee you that. I’m very well prepared and I’m going into the octagon to take that belt. I’m ready to fight in the stand-up, to wrestle, to compete in the parterre – I have enough toughness to fight him for five days, not five rounds”
“I have more power and I outclass him as a finisher. He’s technical and has a great skill set. He has a lot of experience and knows how to distribute his power in a fight. I may not have that experience, but you’ll see me shine as the man with the most experience in the octagon. I’m ready to take what’s mine.”
As a reminder, the featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Elijah Topuria will headline UFC 298, which kicks off in less than 24 hours in Anaheim.
