Spanish-Georgian featherweight Ilia Topuria commented on the statement of American Brian Ortega, who made it clear that he was not going to accept the fight with him.
“Brian, the only thing I hear is excuses,” Topuria wrote on the social network. “I was hoping you would take the fight because you have Mexican blood in your veins and Mexicans don’t tend to turn down fights. You look insecure! Are you doubting yourself?”
Earlier, Ilia Topuria repeatedly challenged the American, and his coach said that they were offered to fight against Brian Ortega or Josh Emmett at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.
26-year-old Ilia Topuria is undefeated and managed to win five victories in the UFC, in the last fight he finished with a choke with a manual triangle of Bryce Mitchell.
32-year-old Brian Ortega, on the other hand, is on a two-fight streak, losing a decision to Alex Volkanovski, and was injured in the confrontation with Yair Rodriguez, due to which he could not continue the fight.
