If not a rematch with Kambosos, then a fight with Lomachenko – Devin Haney

Absolute lightweight champion American Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) is not sure that his next fight will certainly be a rematch with Australian George Kambosos Jr. (20-1, 10 KOs) – the fighters met last week in Melbourne (Australia) , a boxer from the United States won by a confident decision of the judges.

Despite the fact that the contract contained a clause on revenge, it is possible that the Australian will first take an intermediate fight.

“Already talked to my team about the next fight,”
Haney says. – We do not rule out other options, despite the clause on revenge. Our goal is to make the biggest fight possible. And my team and I are moving in that direction. Can I lack motivation before the rematch with Kambosos? No, because I am the absolute world champion. And I will have to defend this title, work hard to remain the best in the division.”

In the event that Kambosos waives the right to a rematch for any reason, Haney is going to choose Gervonta Davis or Vasily Lomachenko as opponents: “Opponents should not be underestimated at all. Regardless of how eminent a fighter it is. The biggest fight is, of course, with Lomachenko. These are the challenges that turn me on – Davis, Lomachenko. These two fighters are at the top of my list. After all, fighting them makes the most sense. The rest I don’t rate as highly.”

His ex-coach Jeff Mayweather agrees with the fighter: Haney should definitely fight Lomachenko. But the ex-champion from Australia, Jeff Horn, suggests that Kambosos should come out for revenge. He can win.
